In the News: Antheia Senior Scientist Involved in Cancer Research Discovery

Senior Scientist Chunshun Li received accolades for his contribution to a recent University of Hawaii Cancer Center discovery. In support of lead researcher Shugeng Cao, associate member of the Cancer Biology Program at the UH Cancer Center, Li and his co-investigator Xiaohua Wu identified a rare bacterium, petrichorin A, that is active against certain cancers, such as ovarian cancer, fibrosarcoma, prostate cancer, and T-cell leukemia. “Cancer is the second leading cause of death in Hawaiʻi and nationally, after cardiovascular disease. If petrichorin A were developed successfully, people in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific would benefit from our drug therapies,” said Cao. You can read the full article here.
